LIQUID PHASE APPLICATION

LIQUID PHASE APPLICATION

WATER PURIFICATION – Activated carbon filtration can effectively reduce certain organic compounds and chlorine in drinking water. It can also reduce the quality of lead, dissolved radon, and harmless taste- and- odor- causing compounds.

DECHLORINIZATION –      One of the many adsorption properties of activated carbon is its high capacity to reduce chlorine.

MUNICIPAL/ INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT – Activated carbon is used in water and wastewater treatment to reduce some impurities in water used for industries. Primarily as an adsorbent for the removal of relatively low levels of organic and inorganic contaminants via transfer from the dissolved phase to the solid carbon surface.

GOLD RECOVERY –          Highly activated carbon is used in the dissolved gold recovery process, either by introducing it directly into the CIL (carbon-in-leach) tanks or into separate CIP (carbon-in-pulp) tanks after leaching. The activated carbon adsorbs the dissolved gold from the leach slurry thereby concentrating it into a smaller mass of solids. The carbon is then separated from the slurry by screening and subjected to further treatment to recover the adsorbed gold.
